We hear about it in the news, we hear about it from the past, but no one expected it to happen to them. Everyone was enjoying a day of school, at least some... most were in classes, some were absent, others were skipping, while three students walked in from their cars and each stopped at the main entrance. Bombs had been planted on a few cars, as well as out near the entrance's and exits of the school which were set to explode. Notes had been left at their homes, saying that they wouldn't be coming back.

Nine o-clock in the morning, Three males walked into the school and let loose and array of bullets down the halls. The main hall and the main office were destroyed... many in the office were killed. Students poured from windows as authorities arrived, some were locked in rooms without windows, waiting to see if the students passed.

It was at 11:20 am, when the school went silent. Outside went quiet as swat came close to the school, ready for bullets or bombs. They waited five minutes, before they heard sudden automatic shots ring out from the school. The three gunman had finally gotten together and ended up tearing the school to pieces and shooting what left over students and teachers were in the halls or in rooms that weren't locked.

It was at 2pm when everything ended, two of the three gunmen were found dead... the other, a shot through the head, was found still alive but in critical condition. He was taken into custody.

Half of the school escaped that day, while the other half became victims. One hundred kids made it out, but will bullet wounds, cuts, or bruises. Three teachers out of eleven made it out after everything ended. The other students left in the building... gone. Blood splatters, pure silence, broken glass, Lockers indented or destroyed, books ruined, classrooms demolished. On that day, people gathered at local schools to find their parents while some of the parents waited for their kids to come back home to them.

It's been a year, the senior class has moved on. The school has been fixed and repaired to the point that it looked better than before... and now it's time for the classes to return. New teachers have been added, as well as a new principal, vice principal, etc. Everything is different, security is high, and the students are still mourning the loss of friends, loved ones, siblings, parents... Will the fear of another shooting arise? Will people change this year? Will some even make it to the end of the year? And what ever happened to that gunmen... the one taken into custody?

Who knows what this new year will bring.
